Mint Julep
Bourbon, sugar and mint under a mound of crushed ice in a frosted metal cup. The Kentucky Derby drink.
Ingredients
74 ml before ice, about 100 ml in the glass
- 60 ml Bourbon
- 4 Mint sprigs
- 1 tsp Sugar or 7.5 ml simple syrup
- 2 tsp Water
Method
- In Julep Stainless Steel Cup gently muddle the mint with sugar and water.
- Fill the glass with cracked ice, add the Bourbon and stir well until the cup frosts.
Garnish
A mint sprig.
Recipe as specified by the International Bartenders Association. Strength is an estimate that allows for dilution from ice.
